Proper curing is one of the most important steps in producing durable, long-lasting concrete. Lightly applying water to freshly placed concrete during the curing process helps slow moisture loss, allowing the cement to fully hydrate. This controlled curing process gives the concrete more time to develop its designed strength, improves overall durability, and reduces surface shrinkage.
