STORM & GENERATOR SAFETY REMINDER
With significant storms expected this weekend, now is a good time to make sure your standby generator is ready!
Before the storm:
• Check your generator’s controller/display. On newer units, the blue light should be solid. If it is blinking or off, please call us.
• Check your propane supply.
• Make sure the area around your generator is clear and accessible.
Please make it a habit to periodically check your generator’s controller so you know your unit is ready when you need it. If you notice a fault or anything that doesn’t look right, give us a call—we can’t help with an issue if we don’t know about it!
We’ve also noticed excessive grass, leaves, and shrubbery around a number of generators during our fall maintenance visits. Please keep the area clear, as this can be a serious fire hazard and restrict proper airflow.
If your generator has an issue during the storm, please do not attempt to repair or troubleshoot it yourself. Call us first.
We’re a small company and always do our best to reach everyone promptly. During a major storm, emergency calls will be prioritized by severity and safety needs, including medical needs, followed by customers current with their preventative maintenance plans. We will assist everyone else as quickly as conditions and availability allow.
Our technicians’ safety comes first, and we will not dispatch crews into dangerous conditions.
