Plumbing & Heating was founded in Houlton, Maine in 1882 by Great Great Grandfather Addison Pineo Russell Smith and his brother Frank. It was one of the first businesses founded in Houlton. The original Smith Bros. store was a cornerstone of the community of Houlton selling model stoves, and primarily tin items, dishes, pots, pans, lanterns, and other general household goods.
