Introducing you all to “The Rustic Cameron,” a newly completed kitchen remodel ✨🤎🙌🐎
Saddle up, because we have lots of details to share! Don’t forget to scroll to the end to see the before photos!
Before we dive in, we want to give credit where credit is due. This project is a true example of teamwork.
Marsha, one of our estimators, secured this opportunity through her experience and sharp estimating skills. Marsha also oversaw the project from start to finish through her coordination, keeping timelines on track and ensuring subcontractors were scheduled when needed. Payton, our interior designer, led the design process from start to finish—reconfiguring the layout and helping the homeowners select every interior finish, from cabinet colors to pendant lights and everything in between.
Our lead framer, Alex Bowers, brought the vaulted ceiling to life using his knowledge and experience to ensure the space was structurally sound. Scott Willis, our shop leader, stained all of the new trim (and beams!) to perfectly match the existing trim—can you even tell a difference? Taylor Pressgrove, our talented mason, added the stone slab to the fireplace and installed the kitchen backsplash.
As for our carpenter crew, Marcus Blake and Caemen Blake deserve their own paragraph. These two got as close to perfect as perfect can get. Their craftsmanship, versatility, and attention to detail truly shine in this space. Cheers to Marcus and Caeman—their talents are top-notch, and we’re so grateful they’re part of our team.
Now for the project details you’ve been waiting for…
✯ The original 8-foot ceiling is gone! Our team converted it into a 14-foot vaulted ceiling that follows the roofline. What a difference that made.
✯ We removed an exterior wall that connected to a screened-in porch and transformed that space into a new dining area. This change completely opened up the kitchen and dining room to create a bright, open feel. The old screening was replaced with new Pella windows stained to match the existing exterior.
✯ The original floor plan was reworked to create a larger laundry room. By removing the coat closet, we were able to deepen the space. We even reused and modified the original kitchen cabinets to fit perfectly in the laundry room, complete with a new laundry sink.
✯ A wood beam once separated the brick fireplace from the ceiling. Taylor added a stone slab to the top of the fireplace, and you’d never know it wasn’t original to the home. He also installed the brick backsplash tile and stone accent band, which truly tied the kitchen together.
✯ A fun detail: the original cabinet pulls were reused to preserve the home’s character. You just can’t beat details like that.
✯ We added a linen closet behind the TV entertainment area, which quickly became one of the homeowners’ favorite features.
✯ Around the corner, we installed a custom drop-zone with storage and a built-in space for their dog’s food bowls—stylish and functional.
We are so grateful to our community for trusting us with their homes. We know your home is your safe place, and we strive to leave it feeling even more like home than when we arrived.
