🚧 From failing railroad tie walls… to a retaining wall built to last. 💪

This property had multiple old timber walls that were rotting, shifting, and beginning to fail. Water drainage issues, uneven grading, and aging materials were turning the entire side yard into a problem area.

So we tore it all out and rebuilt it the RIGHT way:
✔ Full excavation
✔ Proper compacted base installation
✔ Engineered retaining wall block system
✔ Improved grading and drainage
✔ Clean, modern appearance built for long-term stability

Sometimes the best project decision isn’t the biggest one… it’s the smartest one for the homeowner. 👌

We originally met with these clients to discuss a full backyard transformation:
✔ Flagstone patio
✔ Decorative walkway
✔ Poolside upgrades
✔ Full outdoor living redesign

After walking through ideas, renderings, and budget options together, we ultimately landed on something different:

👉 Rebuilding their existing brick patio the RIGHT way.

Once we discovered the current patio was installed over a foam-style base material instead of a proper compacted foundation, it became clear why areas were shifting and failing over time.

So instead of pushing a larger project outside the client’s comfort zone, we pivoted toward:
✔ Full patio tear-out
✔ Proper excavation & grading
✔ New compacted base installation
✔ New paver edging
✔ Reinstallation of the existing brick pavers

The goal now:
A cleaner, more stable patio that keeps the character of the original space while fixing the underlying issues correctly. 💪
