This is the moment our shipping container actually becomes a swimming pool. 👀

Today we’re dropping our full fiberglass pool shell into the container — and the fit is no accident.

Once the shell is set and aligned, we move into the next stages of assembly, bringing the fiberglass shell, steel container, and insulation together into one seriously strong pool system.

And this is just the beginning of this build. 💪

❄️ If you live where pools can FREEZE, this matters.

Our 20’ Tanning Ledge Container Pool is designed a little differently for a reason.

We place the skimmers, returns, and plumbing at the open end of the container, keeping the entire plumbing system accessible.

Does that mean we sacrifice a little circulation compared to spreading the returns around the pool? Yes.

But in a cold climate, we think the tradeoff makes sense. If you lose power during a hard freeze and a pipe gets damaged, you can actually get to the plumbing to repair it—without tearing into the pool.

Sometimes good design isn’t about hiding everything. It’s about thinking about what happens when something goes wrong.

Another one starts coming together this week 👀

This white tanning ledge shell just arrived, and we’ve already installed the skimmer and return fittings.

One thing you don’t always see in the finished product: our fiberglass shells are about 1/2” thick — built with the kind of substantial fiberglass construction you’d expect from an in-ground pool.

Now it’s time to turn this shell and a shipping container into a finished Midwest Container Pool.

After cutting this much steel out of a shipping container, keeping everything straight and square matters.

We reinforce our containers throughout the fabrication process — and one easy way to see the result is right here: the original container doors still have the correct gap and alignment.

If the container moves or twists during fabrication, these doors will tell on you.

It’s not just about keeping the walls straight. 💪

When we weld and reinforce the walls of our shipping containers, we’re doing more than preventing them from bowing outward.

Those container walls are a major part of the structure. By tying everything together with welded steel reinforcement, we strengthen the entire container—including the floor system underneath the pool.

That matters when you’re supporting thousands of gallons of water.

We don’t just cut a hole in a shipping container and drop a pool inside. Every Midwest Container Pool is engineered and reinforced as a complete structure, from the walls all the way down to the floor.
