"What is pyrolyzing?" you ask? Pyrolysis means "decomposition with heat" and it is as simple as baking the material in an oven in the absence of oxygen. The baking process releases flammable gasses that provide heat energy. Good morning all you greenthumbs, it's time to Spring into action! The days are beginning to get longer and it's starting to warm up, at least during the day, this morning the thermometer was reading 20 degrees at EG (Elemental Gardener) in Tonasket WA. The time has come to begin planning this years garden, and a good place to begin is by looking through last years garden journal.

One of the best things you can do to keep your garden focused and highly productive is to take notes. A garden journal will allow you to keep track of all your garden activities such as vegetable selections, planting dates, and fertilizer applications. As the seasons pass, your gardening journal will become a valuable asset and wealth of information to you. You'll be able to reflect back on what worked well and what didn't work so well in your garden, and this in turn will help boost your gardens performance year after year.
