Breaking News: A big surprise today at the Lone Star Art Guild juried show when the train painting, End of the Line, received the People’s Choice Award. Super proud of this one and thanks to everyone who voted for it. Got a nice gift certificate to Blicks as well.

First painting of 2026. Rework of an older one.
Normally, placing the primary visual element in the dead center is frowned upon. However. I liked the way the implied line of the tree and horizon created four unique quadrants of interest. No rules in art.
New Year’s painting resolutions:
1. Keep the brushstrokes loose

4. Slow down
