My workshop was in desperate need of windows that it has long since lost. What better things to use than salvage wood and salvaged sashes. True 2x4s and 2x6s that were reclaimed were used in creating a full jamb and sill to fit the upper and lower sashes in a single hung configuration for now

Incredibly thankful for Anna and Inspired Lumber Workshop for cultivating a space of machinery and camaraderie with other woodworkers who helped along the way

I always stop for dumpsters with windows in them. But sometimes...

(I doubled back and spent way too much time on this but thankfully it wasn't on a main street)

Last year, I took on the biggest job I'd ever done. Over 8 openings (more than 16 individual sashes) were restored along with many of their jambs and sills stripped and refinished. You can see a wide variety of configurations from single lite to diamond lite, and a fun arch shaped attic window! A little love was all this 1911 house needed to show off for its 115th birthday this year 🥳

You might not know it but this is actually my second year running this business with only a few of our own house's windows as trial runs. I've never owned a business before and don't have any construction background so this is huge for me! I've learned a lot this year, met an incredible community of other restoration pros, met some incredible people in general, and got only slightly better at actually asking people for help along the way.

So here's to the big projects, lessons, and achievements in my second year 🍻, and here's to way bigger projects and achievements next year 🍻!!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from The Wood Window Clinic! (And a belated Happy Hanukkah!) It's been a heck of a year, my second year doing restoration and owning this business.

As the New Year approaches, I realize how much I've done this year alone. There's been a lot of learning and growth about myself as much as about this industry. I appreciate all of you along with me for the ride, the patience you've all provided me, and my heartfelt gratitude in being able to work for and meet you all. It's truly been an honor ❤️🪟👨‍⚕️

Hey everyone! Sometimes the Window Clinic needs a clinic of their own 🤕🤧 and I'm out sick the rest of the week. Please be patient while I try to follow up with calls and projects in between long naps. I am a one person shop after all

Good reminder to get your flu shot, COVID booster, and take care of yourself in general. Those may not stop you from getting sick but they may prevent it from being worse and could protect those around you ❤️

I'm terribly sorry for any inconvenience and hope up be back up and running (or at least briskly walking) very soon!

Come over to 624 Delaware Revitalization Project tomorrow morning (Saturday, October 4 at 10a) to learn proper painting, more weatherstripping, and get closer to reinstallation of these windows! Duffy will be showing some excellent techniques to make sure the cured glazing putty stays protected against the elements.

All windows worked on are the original windows from 624 W Delaware and are getting restored for the future new owners. No registration required, just show up, sign the waiver (only on your first visit), and get ready to learn!
