After a little get off Jacob finish up with a decent weekend
Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham Alabama! A great third round of my first full season in the MotoAmerica Rev’It Twins Cup series is in the books. I overall had a good and successful weekend racing.
Practice one. A late morning practice on Friday made for a good start by being able to go out on track with a significant amount of rubber already laid down on the track. I was able to get comfortable on the track again and get back to my lap times from the past year that I have gotten there. I ran into one issue in the session and had to pull into the pits with an overheating bike, the team was able to cool it down and I was able to re enter the course for the remainder of the session.
Qualifying one. In this session I went out with a goal of top fifteen and did not complete that goal. I was very disappointed in myself even though I came in sixteenth but there's a reason for that because I expect better in myself. I'm not going to all these races to be a top fifteen finisher, to me it is just a waste of time and money. With that being said I just have to reset and push harder.
Qualifying two. This was an early morning session and I went out there grinding my teeth and urging myself to just go faster. My bike was running fantastic and the suspension was awesome after making some changes to it. In this session I dropped another second off my lap time and finished thirteenth overall. Now this is something I was happy about.
Race. This race was definintly a interesting one. I had a horrible start and I was running in fourteenth place. On the fourth or fifth lap of the thirteen lap sprint an unexpected rain shower started. Rain and slick racing tires did not mix well but we kept on racing since the track wasn't getting soaked right away. After three laps of it the rain came down harder and bikes were crashing everywhere. They finally red flagged the race and we were all able to get off the track. I honestly don't know how I did not crash but I'm glad I didn't. The rain stopped first thing after the red flag, thankfully. I was able to restart the race and came in 11th place! Overall my best finish of the season and made my weekend spectacular.
Huge thank you to everyone that continues to support me !
