We’ve been a little quiet on social media lately… but trust us, the shop has been anything but quiet. We’ve been busy building, creating, and knocking out some pretty cool projects. Time to catch you up!

We wrapped up a 16’ long double bunk bed. This system will be installed by the builder’s crew and finished on site. We also got a massive 44’ long built-in closet system through the finish shop. Once some small finishing touches are complete, our crew will be taking this system to the Quad Cities to install.

5 reasons why we prefinish our products, or paint/stain before install

🖌️ Convenience. Our finishing shop is located right next to our custom shop making it very convenient to move products between the shops. It’s also convenient for our finishing crew not needing to make numerous trips to our clients’ house and trying to align schedules with our install crew AND finishing crew.

🖌️ Mess. This one is pretty straight forward. You’re not dealing with the mess of taping and masking off walls and floors in order to have your builtins finished in place. This also means there’s no potential overspray on your walls requiring touch up.

🖌️ Scent. This one is a big one in our opinion. The scent of these finishing products linger for a very long time and can be absorbed into the furniture in your home causing even more of a headache (pun intended). Our finishing shop is set up with high output ventilation fans to mitigate these scents for our crew and when installed, most of that scent has already been dissipated during the cure time.

🖌️ Efficiency. Our finishing crew starts and ends their days at the shop, which is typically when they’ll work on our built ins. That means no travel time. They’re also able to move and position the built ins to make spraying them much easier. Not only efficient but a much cleaner finish.

🖌️ Affordability. All of the above reasons result in a more affordable product. With no travel time, no time spent masking off walls, no touch up from over spray, and more efficient through the finishing shop, that all results in a product that is more affordable for our customers which is something we strive for as we keep our pricing competitive.
