We were excited to welcome the girls from She Builds Construction Camp to Haas!
The camp, hosted by Market & Johnson, Inc., gives girls in grades 6–8 the opportunity to explore the many career paths available in the construction industry through hands-on experiences, activities, and time with industry professionals.
During their visit to our County T location, the girls got a behind-the-scenes look at our Redi-Mix operation. They toured our batch plant and shop, and they had the opportunity to check out a Redi-Mix truck, dump truck, and concrete pump truck!
It was great to share what we do and give the girls a closer look at the many opportunities available in the construction industry. We are proud to be part of an event that helps inspire and introduce the next generation to careers they may not have considered before!

Throwback Thursday! 📸

A little trip down memory lane…

“Old Junk Yard Been Good to Haas, Inc.” — this article gives us a glimpse into the early years of Haas, Inc., back when things were a little simpler, the equipment looked a little different, and a lot of hard work went into building the foundation of what we have today.

A lot has changed since then, but it’s fun to look back and remember where it all started.

🚨 HAAS WEEKLY GUESSING GAME — FINAL WINNER ANNOUNCEMENT 🚨

👋 Meet Pete, one of the familiar faces who has helped shape Haas over the last 25 years!

If you ask Pete, he'll tell you he started "back in the day" in the Dump Truck Division. That didn't last long, though. Winter was coming, so he moved into the shop for a while.

Then one Friday, Dave Haas walked into the shop and asked Pete if he wanted to work the next day. Pete's response? "Sure, what do you got?"

Well, that conversation landed Pete on the Crushing Crew.

Over time, Pete made his way into the Street Crew Division, and the rest is history. Throughout his career, Pete has operated just about every piece of equipment you can think of. While many of his years were spent running a grader, he has also worked on our restoration crew operating loaders and skid steers, served as a foreman, and worked on the pipe crew handling just about anything that needed to get done.

When asked how he ended up in a Project Manager role, Pete laughed and shared the story.

One day, Craig Haas called him and asked, "How long are you working on the street crew?"

Pete replied, "Well, I'm here until at least 7:00 PM."

What Craig was really asking was whether Pete would be interested in moving into a Project Manager position in the office.

When we asked Pete why he thought Craig called him for the role, his answer was:
"Let's just say I have historical knowledge." We'll let you decide whether that's experience talking or just an age joke.

Pete's knowledge, experience, and willingness to step into whatever role is needed have made him an important part of the Haas team for the last 25 years.

👋 Pete is announcing our Round 7 — and final winner!

🎉 Congratulations, Kimberly Kaduce! 🎉

The correct answer was D: Dave Haas, Inc.

Unfortunately, nobody correctly guessed the twist question, but we appreciate all of the great guesses and research everyone put into it!

The company originally started as Thorp Lime Service before eventually becoming Dave Haas, Inc. On August 1, 1988, Dave Haas, Inc. was split into Haas Sons, Inc. and Haas Transport, Inc as part of the company's continued growth and evolution.

🚨 HAAS WEEKLY GUESSING GAME – ROUND 7 (Throwback Thursday Edition!) 🚨

For our final round, we’re going way back 👀—not all the way to Dave Haas unloading lime off railroad cars next to the Thorp shop, but close enough to make you think!

As many of you know, Haas has been around for 65+ years, originally hauling lime before growing into the company we are today. Over time, that operation evolved into what we now know as Haas Sons, Inc and Haas Transport Inc.

We’re doing this round on Thursday instead of Friday to give you all an extra day to do your research 📚😉

This week’s question will test just how well you know our roots:

❓ YOUR QUESTION
What was the company name before it became Haas Sons, Inc. and Haas Transport Inc.?
A) Dave Haas and Sons
B) Dave and Sons
C) D&P Transport
D) Dave Haas, Inc

✨ TWIST:
If you can guess the correct answer AND what the company was called before that name, you might be in for a pretty sweet cup giveaway ☕😏

Little hint 👀 — the original name of Haas is NOT listed in the multiple-choice answers, so you’ll have to dig a little deeper on this one!

We look forward to seeing both of your answers posted!

👇 Drop your guess (A, B, C, or D) and the original company name in the comments
📌 All guesses must be in by end of day Tuesday
🎉 Winner + correct answer revealed Thursday

Good luck—and happy Throwback Thursday!

🚨 HAAS WEEKLY GUESSING GAME — WINNER ANNOUNCEMENT 🚨

👋 Meet Jon, one of our Redi-Mix drivers at Haas!

If you ask Jon, he started as a mechanic and somehow ended up in the Redi-Mix Division. Jon was full time in the shop starting in November three years ago, and was asked to run a Redi-Mix truck. He was set up to be in the trainer truck the very next day to start learning the role—so basically, he skipped “sometime in the future” and went straight to “see you tomorrow.”

Jon has stepped into running a Redi-Mix truck, including running a pump truck (more of a May 2026 thing, as he puts it—“had to get me seasoned a bit on our processes”). When asked if he prefers the Redi-Mix truck or the shop, he said, “I can do what they need me to do.” A true jack of all trades, as some may say.

Over the past three years, Jon has seen significant changes across the company. When asked what’s changed, he mentioned shop renovations, new employees, and continued growth in Redi-Mix. He also pointed to the changing format of the shop itself—including more hands-on work such as tearing down, rebuilding, and painting trucks in-house rather than outsourcing those projects. Along with that, he noted the ongoing updates and improvements across the fleet, as well as continued growth in Redi-Mix operations overall.

When asked why he stays, Jon said the pay is good and so is the 401(k). How did Jon end up at Haas? It’s the answer we hear most often: “I’ve seen your trucks all over.”

Jon’s story is a great example of how roles can grow and change here at Haas.

👋 Jon is announcing our Round 6 winner!

🎉 Congratulations, Donna Kotecki! 🎉

The correct answer was A: Eau Claire.

We stumped a lot of you, as many guessed Thorp—but Haas Redi-Mix operations actually began in Eau Claire. Today, our Redi-Mix footprint spans multiple locations, with operations, dispatch, and billing supported across our network. While Eau Claire remains a key hub for those functions, we’re proud to have drivers, dispatch support, and team members working together across multiple sites to keep everything running smoothly.

⭐ Stay tuned for the LAST round of the Haas Weekly Guessing Game! We’ve got a good one lined up—let’s see who can be our final winner!

🚨 HAAS WEEKLY GUESSING GAME – ROUND 6 🚨

This week we’re highlighting our Redi-Mix Division! 🚛🏗️

What is our mission?
To deliver the highest quality concrete and customer experience in the industry.

The Haas Redi-Mix Division has spent years investing in the latest technology, industry-leading quality control, and a fleet capable of tackling any challenge. From record-breaking commercial projects to the toughest infrastructure work, we've built a reputation for delivering concrete that performs and service that stands above the rest. With hundreds of dedicated employees, our Redi-Mix Division continues to focus on consistency, reliability, and results.

Did you know that our Redi-Mix Division was the last of our company divisions to be established? While Haas, Inc. had been serving customers for decades, we officially entered the Redi-Mix business in 1996, expanding our services to provide quality concrete products throughout the region.

While we have expanded tremendously since 1996, we want to take you all the way back to when the Redi-Mix Division was established—so your question for the week is:

❓ YOUR QUESTION

What town was home to Haas, Inc’s first Redi-Mix plant when we entered the Redi-Mix business in 1996?

A) Eau Claire
B) Thorp
C) Ladysmith
D) Abbotsford

Congratulations, Ben!
We've enjoyed watching Ben grow through the Youth Apprenticeship program and are excited to officially welcome him to our team full-time after graduation. His dedication, positive attitude, and eagerness to learn have made him a great fit at Haas, Inc.
We're proud to be part of his journey and can't wait to see what the future holds. Welcome to the team, Ben!

Regis High School graduate Ben Jentlie has turned his passion for diesel mechanics into a promising career opportunity through the Youth Apprenticeship program. 👏

Throughout his junior and senior years, Ben completed a Youth Apprenticeship at Haas Sons, Inc., where he gained valuable hands-on experience working alongside professionals in the diesel mechanic field. This opportunity allowed him to apply classroom learning in a real-world setting while developing technical skills and industry knowledge. 🚚

Ben's dedication, work ethic, and commitment to learning made a strong impression on the team at Haas Sons, Inc. As a result of his successful apprenticeship experience, he has been offered full-time employment following graduation. 🎓
