A two year tale of rebuilding a rolled distributor truck.

We picked up this rig for less than $10k at auction and ended up going in DEEP to get it repaired.

Like most things, the effort is worth it in the end if you’re able to see it through.

If you’re stupid enough to try it, and disciplined enough to persevere, you can do anything you want.

5 months and TWO rebuilds later, truck 22 is back on the road.

We diagnosed the symptom not the problem and paid the price.

What we thought was a head failure turned out to be an injector with a microscopic crack.

After doing an in-frame, we started the truck only to hydrolock it minutes later.

We replaced the injector and tried again, to our dismay we had unknowingly bent the crank.

Metal shavings went everywhere.

Time for rebuild #2, this time from the ground up.

We learned many painful and expensive lessons along the way- but when the going gets tough, the tough get going.

One day we’ll be first class mechanics with a first class shop.
