Been a challenging winter for construction so far this year. Thin-brick faced precast concrete walls for another data center being installed in Mahwah, New Jersey this month. Neither snow nor freezing temperatures will prevent installation from moving forward. Kudos to our team partners at Precast Services Inc. for taking it in stride. We both take pride in making the project look great. PCI Producer and Erector Certification matters.

Progress Update: Salem Police Department Total Precast Concrete Building
Exciting progress this week on the installation of a Total Precast Concrete Building for the Salem Police Department in New Hampshire!
Our team successfully produced and installed pre-insulated precast concrete wall panels that support roof beams and slabs. The entire structure came together in just three days!
A huge thank you to our PCI Certified Erector partner, American Steel and Precast Inc., for delivering such an efficient and high-quality installation.
This project showcases the speed, durability, and energy efficiency that Total Precast Solutions bring to modern construction.

Coreslab Structures (CONN) Inc. is proud to support employee wellness throughout the year. Special thanks to Nick Chiovitti of Override CrossFit for his presentation to our employees earlier this year regarding Nutrition, Fitness and Wellness.
In addition, we were excited to help sponsor a recent community event with our Assistant Plant Manager, Scott Beauvais (on left), and his teammate during the 2025 event. We even supplied some cool precast weight plates.
Let’s all get behind supporting better health!

Exciting progress on Phase 1 of the Chestnut Street bridge replacement in Massachusetts! This project features a full lineup of precast concrete components—including footings, abutment walls, wing walls, and prestressed deck beams—designed for durability and efficiency.
Big thanks to our PCINE Associate Members: ALP Supply, Dayton Superior, Dimension Fabricators, and Splice Sleeve North America for providing the materials that helped bring this phase to life.
Looking forward to tracking the accelerated progress in the months ahead!

Coreslab Structures Connecticut was happy to host High-School Students form the Connecticut Summer Transportation Institute with Central Connecticut State University. Rising 10th to 12th grade students learned about land, air and water transportation. Ending off the week with a presentation by PCI NE’s Directory, Sarah Patrie, of uses of precast / prestressed concrete for bridges and showing off our production facility. We were excited for the group to help “load-test” a recently produced 38’ long Prestressed Deck Slab. In the background, a 71’ long Precast Bridge Unit with integral parapet is comprised of steel girders and precast deck slabs creating an accelerated bridge replacement project soon to ship. The weather cooperated just enough to get this “Precast is Strong” picture. Education can be fun!!

Great progress made this week with the Architectural Insulated Precast Panels being installed to clad the new CT Proton Therapy Cancer Center. Simple angled recess bands and textures were used to add economical interest for the large flat areas of the building. Along with the panels seen here, removable precast concrete roof beams will be installed for future servicing of this state-of-the-art medical equipment. Another great solution precast concrete materials can offer.

The value of pre-production mockups is unmeasurable. Without this essential process, production challenges can negatively impact your project. Working closely with both the design team and client, we can customize the architectural precast concrete materials to achieve the desired shapes and finish variations.

Coreslab Structures (CONN) Inc. was proud to assist the University of Hartford’s College of Engineering, Technology, and Architecture, as well as the ASCE Student Chapter with providing reusable formwork and a precast concrete beam for student education. What better way of education than to expose students not only to the design aspects of using precast concrete but to further their experienced learning is through this type of involvement. Thanks also to the Connecticut Concrete Promotion Council for asking for us to participate. We encourage all Colleges, Universities and Vocational Schools to ask your local PCI Producer to showcase their knowledge through Plant Tours, Speaker Events, PCI Webinars and hands-on learning events.
