Admittedly, Boo may have preferred the grass lawn, but we LOVE the stuffed yard as it is now with a mix of annuals and perennials. In years past, it has produced a lot of food for us. Now it is producing flowers. The bees and other insects are loving life here!

Best to buy your flowers before the storm hits this weekend. I’m crossing my fingers for just some steady easy rain and no crazy wind!

Flower farmers have to be incredibly adaptable to handle weather events and still produce for their customers and meeting health, longevity, and aesthetic standards.

Basically a puppy!

This bee was sleeping in after sheltering from the rainstorm in my dahlia flower.

Took my 1-2 week old client arrangements, tossed the wilted stems, and reworked them into one v casual vase for myself. I love doing this because:
1. I get to enjoy the flowers
2. Test vase life in familiar conditions (mostly temp controlled but with kids touching them)
3. They smell so good!! The tulsi and scabiosa are incredibly fragrant.

The wind was a paid actor

Arrangement: red poppy, mother of pearl poppy, mock strawberry, grasses

The arrangement here is from my floristry series, First Impressions. I re-create my impression of a famous American impressionist artist using flowers from One Wedding Farm.

Anyone else got a bit of the summer mush brain going on 😆
Between the summer harvest volume, sun, mosquitoes, events, and the rest of this wonderful season, I am wrung out and a lil weird by the end of August.
