It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of Joseph Robichaud, father of Wood You Build It founder, Justin Robichaud. ❤️
Fourteen years ago, Joe was part of the inspiration behind starting Wood You Build It. He was there from the very beginning, even tagging along for our maiden delivery trip.
Simply put, without him, there would be no Wood You Build It.
I’ve always tried to keep my personal life separate from the business, but this felt important to share because, in many ways, my father’s influence is woven into what Wood You Build It has always stood for.
There is a reason we’ve never sold out to retail stores or tried to remove ourselves from the people who buy our furniture. We’ve always valued the personal connection that comes from building something for a family and delivering it directly into their home.
Behind every order is a story. Behind every delivery is a family, a home, a milestone, or a memory being made.
We know we aren’t curing cancer. We build furniture. But more often than not, that furniture ends up right in the middle of the kitchen, the place where families gather, friends pull up a chair, holidays are celebrated, stories are told, and life happens around one of our kitchen islands.
That personal connection has always mattered to me.
And now, perhaps more than ever, I understand exactly why.
My father helped inspire this little idea 14 years ago, and his legacy will forever be a part of Wood You Build It.
So today, I wanted to break my own rule about mixing the personal with the business and introduce you to one of the people who helped make all of this possible.
Thank you, Dad. ❤️
Your fingerprints will forever be on everything we’ve built.
