🚨 Installation Matters 🚨
Here is a glass break detector I saw installed at a local business.
At first glance, it looks fine.
The business has a security system.
There is a detector on the wall.
Everything appears protected.
But here is the problem.
This particular model of glass break sensor must be mounted at least 3.3 feet away from the glass.
The manufacturer clearly states that installing it closer than that may prevent it from activating properly.
As you can see in this photo, the detector is mounted directly beside the window.
That means in the event of the glass actually breaking, there is a real possibility it would not trigger an alarm.
This is why security is not just about having equipment on the wall.
It is about proper design, correct placement, and following manufacturer specifications.
Just because a company is licensed does not mean their technicians are properly trained or detail oriented.
We regularly see businesses that have been paying monitoring fees for years, yet their system would likely fail when it matters most.
Very sad.
At Centex Systems, we believe the details are what protect people and property.
Proper installation is not optional.
It is the foundation of real security.
