At our Sky Harbor Logistics project, our VDC team is helping turn coordinated digital plans into precise field installation points before the work goes in.

Using construction layout technology onsite allows our team to transfer information directly from the model to the field, helping improve accuracy, reduce layout time, and keep installation aligned with the coordinated design.

It’s one of the ways VDC connects planning with execution—giving our field teams better information, earlier, so they can build with confidence.

Projects are built by people, and last Friday, we had the chance to spend some time with the team making one of our projects happen.

Field lunches give us an opportunity to get out of the office, connect with our crews where the work is happening, and recognize the skill and effort behind every milestone. On a project of this scale, progress depends on people showing up every day, solving problems, coordinating with one another, and taking pride in the work they leave behind.

Progress at the Ivy Brain Tumor Center continues to take shape through the work of our field team.

Our electricians are advancing lighting infrastructure, supporting power needs for HVAC controls, and coordinating electrical adjustments throughout the space as construction moves forward.

Behind each of these updates is a team focused on keeping the project moving safely, efficiently, and in step with the evolving needs of the facility.

The work happening today will help support an environment built for research, treatment, and patient care for years to come. Our team had a great time attending the Arizona Construction Expo and connecting face to face with general contractors, fellow trade partners, suppliers, and industry professionals from across the state.

Events like this create an opportunity to strengthen existing partnerships, build new connections, and stay engaged with the people helping move Arizona’s commercial construction industry forward.

See how collaboration between our Prefab Manager and General Foreman keeps production moving from the shop to the field. ⚡

By prefabricating the MC feeder hangers, our team was able to:

• Install the hangers across an 80,000-square-foot level in one day with just two electricians
• Begin pulling feeders the following day
• Complete the east and west sides of the floor in only half a day each

This is what prefabrication looks like in action: fewer installation hours, efficient use of manpower, and a field team positioned to move directly into the next phase of work.

Great work by everyone involved in keeping this project moving.

This week, some of our team took part in QPR Gatekeeper Training, led by Matt Thesing with the 4x5 Su***de Prevention Program.

The training helped participants learn how to recognize su***de warning signs, reduce stigma, offer hope, and connect someone in crisis with the right support.

It was another important step toward making mental health an essential part of workplace safety. We are grateful to 4x5 and Matt for bringing this valuable training to our team.
