Upgrading old or degraded window film requires thorough surface prep and precise installation to achieve a seamless, professional finish.
To start, strip away the old tint and scrape off remaining adhesive residue with a lubricated razor blade to prevent scratching the pane. Once the glass is completely spotless, generously spray the surface with a slip solution—usually mild soapy water—and carefully align the new window tint sheet against the top edge. Smooth the film down onto the wet glass, adjusting its position as needed, then use a squeegee to push out trapped water and air bubbles from the center outward. Finally, trim any excess film around the edges for a clean fit, wipe down the frame, and allow the adhesive to fully cure.
