Just wrapped this custom install in the Las Sendas community in Mesa, AZ! Our client wanted a true artificial grass bocce court, but also wanted to sneak in some putting practice — so we built it holes that can be covered and a collapsible net, surrounded by our Designer Ultra turf for that dialed-in, true-roll putting surface.

One court. Two games. Zero water bill. 💦🚫

Can you spot all the issues? 👀🌱

This backyard was a DIY turf install 🔨 before the homeowner called us out for a proper quote. A few things jump out right away:

🔹 Multiple pieces of turf running in different directions — grain should always face the same way for a consistent look
🔹 Visible seams splitting the yard into mismatched sections ✂️
🔹 Uneven base underneath, causing that rolling, wavy surface instead of a flat, tight finish 〰️

Turf looks simple until you’re the one installing it. Base prep, seaming, and grain direction are where a DIY job goes from “looks okay” to “why does my yard look like a patchwork quilt” 🤔

We’re excited to rip this out and give it the install it should’ve had from day one. Stay tuned for the transformation 💪🌟
