This barn is getting a full outdoor living transformation, and we cannot wait to bring this design to life.

We kept the exposed wood truss ceiling as the star of the show, then built out a covered patio with matching wood beams, stone accent pillars, a custom stone fountain, and lush flower beds with lavender and white blooms.

Add in string lights, a plush seating area, and fresh turf, and this barn is turning into the ultimate backyard retreat.

Walk the space in person, more than once. Photos and site plans never tell the full story. Light, sound, sightlines, all of it changes depending on the time of day.

I’m asking how the space will actually be lived in, not just how it should look. A backyard for entertaining functions completely differently than one built for quiet mornings.

Study the architecture of the home first. The landscape should feel like it belongs to the house, not like it was dropped in afterward.

Design starts long before the first sketch.

This palm found a new home right in the heart of our courtyard project, giving the space a natural canopy that feels like it’s always been there.

A courtyard designed to do more than one job.

A stone pathway leads guests to the front door, a fire garden feature anchors the space after dark, and a separate seating area gives you somewhere to sit with your coffee before the day starts.
