When this customer in San Tan Valley had an AC unit that would not turn on, they called out one of the large companies in town and were quoted a full replacement as their only option. They wanted a second opinion, so they called us.

We sent out Technician Jeff, and he quickly narrowed it down to a dual run capacitor. A capacitor acts similar to a battery, storing electrical energy to help the compressor start and to keep the condenser fan motor running. Because it gets so much action, it eventually loses its ability to store energy, and the unit will not start without it.

We charged this customer $335 and got them cooling heading into June. You know where to find us! 🤙

Polybutylene pipe is a soft plastic pipe that was used during the 1980's for its easy installation and low manufacturing cost. But because of its composition, it eventually becomes extremely brittle. Unlike a hard-drawn pipe like copper or galvanized steel, which pinhole, this material splits along its length. Because of this feature, if and when it fails, the consequences are exponentially more catastrophic.

This customer knew it was past its useful life, and so instead of waiting for this to happen, they requested that we re-pipe the entire home with Type A PEX. PEX stands for Cross-linked (X) Poly Ethylene. Type A refers to the manner in which it is crimped or connected to its fittings or to the existing copper. Type A is superior to Type B because it uses the memory within the pipe to expand and shrink itself back over the fittings, where Type B does not have this memory, and it uses brass rings that have the potential to dig into the PEX, causing further leaks in the future. This material is rated for hot water and higher pressure, has a better warranty, and is an affordable replacement option.

We protected the area, cut the holes square and even for the drywallers, and ran all new lines throughout. 👍
