Customer behaviors change. Product assortments evolve. Brand strategies shift. The stores that continue to perform year after year are the ones that adapt right alongside them.

Retail design isn't just about opening day—it's about creating a space that can grow with your business. From seasonal updates and new merchandising strategies to refreshed graphics and fixture reconfigurations, continuous improvements keep the customer experience engaging and your brand relevant.

At Off The Wall, we believe great retail design is an ongoing investment—not a one-time project.

Color is one of the first things customers notice—and one of the last things they remember.

The right color palette does far more than make a store look attractive. It influences how shoppers feel, how easily they navigate the space, and how they connect with your brand.

In 2026, successful retail environments are moving beyond simply choosing "pretty colors." They're using intentional palettes to guide traffic flow, highlight products, strengthen brand recognition, and create memorable shopping experiences. Whether it's warm tones that make fresh departments feel inviting or cool colors that reinforce cleanliness and trust, every design decision should support the customer journey.

At Off the Wall, we believe great retail design isn't about following trends—it's about creating environments that support your brand, engage your customers, and grow your business.

Retail design has evolved far beyond creating functional spaces. Today, every design decision—from architecture and lighting to materials, signage, and branding—works together to shape the customer experience.

As you swipe, you'll see how:
Checkout areas became immersive brand experiences.
Bakery departments transformed into destination spaces.
Departments gained stronger identities through architecture and signage.
Lighting evolved from basic illumination to a powerful design feature.
Materials, graphics, and custom fabrication now work together to create memorable environments.

While design trends continue to evolve, one thing hasn't changed: great retail design is always centered around the customer.

For 50 years, Off the Wall has evolved alongside the retail industry—helping brands create spaces that don't just look great, but work smarter.

When you inspire your Customers to explore, they're more likely to discover additional products, visit more departments, and make larger purchases. That's why experiential retail environments are designed to invite exploration—not just transactions.

From cafés and seating areas to interactive experiences and intuitive layouts, every design decision can influence how long Shoppers stay—and what they take home.

Good retail design doesn't just attract Customers; it supports exploration and longer average time-in-store.

What features keep you shopping longer when you visit a store?

Retail visual design isn't decoration—it's strategy.

Your retail environment is often the first conversation customers have with your brand. Every detail—from store layout and signage to lighting, graphics, and fixtures—works together to influence how shoppers navigate, discover products, and remember their experience.

And while retail continues to evolve, the physical store remains just as important.

According to a 2026 IBM and National Retail Federation (NRF) study, 72% of consumers still shop in physical stores, even as AI and digital shopping tools become more common. That means creating an intentional, engaging in-store experience is still one of the most powerful ways to connect with customers.

When people hear value engineering, they often think it just means cutting costs.

While that is a component, it's ultimately about making smarter design decisions.

The most successful retail projects evaluate every material, system, and design choice based on the value it delivers—not simply its price.

When value engineering is considered throughout design, fabrication, and installation, retailers can improve efficiency, maintain design integrity, and maximize their investment.

The 80s marked a pivotal chapter in Off the Wall's history. From our early headquarters in Sellersville, PA, we continued building our reputation by putting customers first and delivering quality that stood the test of time.

During this decade, we expanded our in-house capabilities, welcomed long-standing partners like Weis Markets, and embraced new technology by becoming one of the first graphic design and print companies in the Northeast to invest in computer-assisted design with the Apple IIe. What was revolutionary then helped lay the foundation for the work we do today.

While the tools have changed over the years, one thing hasn't: our commitment to craftsmanship, innovation, and creating retail environments that make an impact.

Here's to celebrating 50 years of building what's next—one decade at a time.

30 years. Countless projects. One incredible journey.

This year, we're celebrating an amazing milestone as one of our team members marks 30 years with Off the Wall!

Starting at just 19 years old with no industry experience, Dan Frack embraced every opportunity to learn and grow. From the welding department to large-format printing, leading the Finish Department, supporting the implementation of our ERP system, and now serving as a Project Manager, Dan's career reflects dedication, adaptability, and a passion for continuous growth.

Over the past three decades, Dan helped shape countless projects while building lasting relationships with teammates, mentors, and customers along the way.

Thank you for your hard work, commitment, and the impact you've made over the last 30 years. Your journey is a testament to what can happen when curiosity, perseverance, and opportunity come together.

Congratulations on this incredible milestone—we're proud to celebrate you and can't wait to see what's ahead!
