Skills: We are looking for candidates who possess most of the following skills, as well as ambition to master the rest and more:
• Proficient with setting various types of tile, such as ceramic, porcelain, marble and granite.
• Understand, articulate and specify to our carpenters what needs to be done to walls, floors ceilings etc to prepare for the "perfect" tile installation; including making walls level, plumb and true.
• Use techniques to prepare surfaces to enable high quality installations even when things are not perfect.
• Understand how to slope shower pans properly to drain.
• Understand what type of mortar and trowel to use for each tile type including large format and natural stone.
• Proficient with when and where to use modern materials like backer boards, waterproofing, decoupling membranes etc.
• Willingness to expand skill base as business requirements grow
• High attention to detail while working efficiently and getting job done on time.
