But here’s what most people don’t know

If your sod fails, it’s usually NOT the grass…
it’s what’s underneath it

Pro tips before installing sod:
✔️ Break up compacted soil (roots need to breathe)
✔️ Add enriched topsoil (not all dirt is created equal)
✔️ Grade for drainage (water should flow, not sit)
✔️ Water immediately after install

Punching 40 holes - let’s plant some trees!🌲

When grass refuses to grow… we redesign the problem.

This homeowner had a strip of yard along the side of the house where grass just wouldn’t survive — too much shade, tree roots, and constant foot traffic.

So instead of fighting nature, we designed a better solution.

✔️ Installed decomposed granite for a clean, low-maintenance walkway
✔️ Added natural flagstone steppers for character and easy access
✔️ Steel edging to keep everything crisp and contained
✔️ River rock accent for drainage at the entry

We also removed a tree in the backyard to open up the space and improve the landscape overall. The homeowner is planning to install the mulch around the front tree themselves to finish it off.

Now the space is functional, clean, and built to last.

Sometimes the best landscape design isn’t forcing grass to grow…
It’s creating something that works with the environment.
