Project Update | El Prado DOT

Progress continues on the El Prado DOT project as our fine grade crew works on the proposed traffic island.

The team is carefully excavating the existing roadway and preparing the area to establish the new island footprint, another important step in bringing the project design to life.

From excavation to fine grading, every step requires precision, coordination, and teamwork.

Project Update | Sylvan Abbey

Progress continues at Sylvan Abbey as the project moves into the earthwork phase.

The crew will begin excavating the ponds and preparing the site for the upcoming installation of storm pipe. These next steps are an important part of establishing the site’s drainage infrastructure and keeping the project moving forward.

From excavation to underground utilities, our team continues to put in the work, one phase at a time.

Burgess Civil is excited to be working on this DOT project.

Our team is improving pedestrian access and connectivity throughout the project, including:

• Adding new sidewalks in designated areas
• Installing ADA-compliant ramps
• Backfilling for new sidewalk construction
• Constructing new crosswalks

Another project focused on improving infrastructure and making our communities safer and more accessible.

This September 11th, our office TEAM came together behind the scenes, cooking, preparing, packing, and delivering appreciation lunches to our field crews.

While the lunch was a small gesture of appreciation, the day was also a great reminder that TEAMWORK and LEARNING happen when we come together.

Our field crews have experiences and knowledge that we can learn from, just as our office teams bring different perspectives and experiences to the table. When we take the time to listen and understand each other, we become a stronger TEAM.

We are excited to welcome Joshua back to Burgess Civil as our new Jr. Estimator!

Joshua was one of our outstanding interns this past summer, where he gained hands-on experience and valuable insight into the construction industry. We are excited to see him continue that journey with Burgess Civil in his new role.

As a Jr. Estimator, Joshua will support our estimating team with project takeoffs, bid preparation, and the planning that goes into bringing construction projects from the estimating stage to the field.

We look forward to supporting Joshua’s continued growth, expanding his skills, and seeing all that he will accomplish as part of our TEAM.

From the early stages to where the project stands today, progress at 500 S Falkenburg continues to take shape. This month-by-month look highlights the work and transformation happening across the site.

The road base for the parking lots and truck court is nearing completion, and construction of the retaining wall is set to begin next week.
