✨ Project Spotlight: Residential Barndominium Build — First-Floor Layout + Second Floor Framing Underway ✨

This barndominium is taking shape fast. With the shell insulated and the interior structure moving, we’re framing out the first-floor layout and building up the second-floor system to lock in the home’s footprint, flow, and function.

Scope:
✅ Insulated building shell for comfort, efficiency, and long-term performance
✅ First-floor interior framing to define rooms, walls, and key living spaces
✅ Second-floor framing in progress—floor system set and structure building upward
✅ Stair framing underway to connect levels safely and cleanly
✅ Openings and layout dialed in to keep everything square, straight, and ready for the next trades

The result so far: A clearly defined first-floor plan with the second level coming together—setting the foundation for rough-ins and interior finishes.

Next up: Continue second-floor framing and stair completion, then roll into MEP rough-ins and the next phase of interior buildout.

Great evening at the Economic Club of Tampa Bay’s Community Leader Social representing AXIA Construction.

A big highlight of the night was hearing guest speaker Rob Higgins, USF Athletics CEO. It was inspiring to hear about his leadership journey, everything he has accomplished and his vision for what’s ahead for USF and the Tampa Bay community.

Always grateful for opportunities like this to connect with great people, gain fresh perspective and continue building meaningful relationships throughout the community.

✨ Project Spotlight: Full Interior Refresh — Brighter, Cleaner, Modernized ✨

This space got a complete reset—better lighting, sharper finishes, and a clean, updated look from top to bottom.

Scope:
✅ Built out the ceiling with furring strips for a proper finish
✅ Ran new electrical and installed 15 LED recessed lights (huge difference)
✅ Installed new ceiling drywall, then taped + textured for a seamless look
✅ Laid new flooring throughout the home
✅ Installed new toilets + a new garbage disposal
✅ Fresh paint on ceilings + walls
✅ Finished it off with new baseboards and crown molding for that crisp, finished detail
The result: brighter rooms, cleaner lines, and a space that feels brand new.

✨ Project Spotlight: New Residential Build -Trusses Flown + Framing Sprint ✨

Big progress out in Zephyrhills.

Last Friday, we flew the trusses and kicked off a fast, controlled framing push—a 4,000 sq ft build with a 3-day frame time. When the structure starts taking shape this quickly, it’s a direct reflection of planning, sequencing, and crew ex*****on.

Scope:
✅ Trusses set and aligned for a clean roof line
✅ Wall framing moving room-by-room with consistent layout
✅ Connections, bracing, and load paths coming together the right way
✅ Momentum that keeps the schedule tight without cutting corners

Next up:
✅ Final framing tie-ins + punch items
✅ Roof dry-in (sheathing/underlayment)
✅ Rough-in coordination and inspections

✨ Project Spotlight: 1,700 SF Addition — CMU Wall Opening Prep (Inbound) ✨

Big additions don’t start with new farming, they start with clean access, clean demo plans, and protecting what already exists.

For this 1,700 sq ft addition, we’re in the early phase of interior prep to create a major new connection point: cutting and opening ~16 feet of existing CMU to tie the new footprint into the current structure.

Scope:
✅ Interior demo + exposure work to confirm structure and layout
✅ Existing finishes removed back to a clean, workable substrate
✅ Work area prepped for a 16’ CMU cut-out/opening (precision matters here)
✅ Planning for safe sequencing, dust control, and clean tie-in to the addition scope

A CMU opening isn’t “just demo.” It’s structural workflow — the cut needs to be straight, controlled, and staged so the transition from existing-to-new is clean, safe, and buildable with no surprises later.
