This laurel was past its due date and even tho it's large and dropping large limbs it is still a very protected species and requires an arborist report as we provide with all of our removals to legally protect the homeowners and ourselves, you can also pull a permit with the city but that is lengthy and they require a slurry of tedious actions just to remove a hazardous tree from over a home & we skip that process to ensure the tree is safely taken down as quickly as we can for you!

Im fascinated with this tree that is simply sideways and supporting itself with a natural lean where the roots actually grow to support it in such a way that looks unnatural but very natural indeed!
A long time ago in south tampa David said to me "When a tree grows with a natural lean the roots actually grow to support the lean" and its always echoed for me.

Due to their rapid growth, they have weaker wood prone to decay, rot, and breaking, Laurel oaks or Quercus laurifolia are a fast growing short lived tree with a lifespan of only 50 to 70 years. They often become hazardous or hollow out in their mature stage.
