In my book you’ll read that every city has a story to tell, including our own here in Tampa.

Architecture of Segregation was inspired by the stories my father shared with me, the lessons I uncovered through historical study, and what I witnessed while traveling throughout the world.

No matter where I’ve gone, I’ve discovered one thing we all have in common: architectural spaces. They shape how we gather, connect, remember, and sometimes, how we’re divided.

I’m grateful to Bay News 9 for highlighting this conversation and the heart behind the book. My hope is that it encourages us all to look beyond the buildings we pass every day and begin asking why they were designed the way they were.

Every wall has meaning. Every city has a story.
