Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and safety-minded Sheet Metal / Shop Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be experienced in working with sheet metal materials, operating shop equipment, and producing high-quality parts for roofing. This role requires precision, teamwork, and adherence to safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
Measure, cut, bend, form, and assemble sheet metal components using hand tools and machinery.
Operate shop equipment such as shears, brakes, folders, press brakes, rollers, notchers, and other fabrication tools.
Maintain clean and organized work areas, including proper storage of raw materials and finished products.
Perform quality checks to ensure fabricated parts meet specifications and tolerances.
Assist with loading/unloading materials and managing inventory levels of sheet metal stock and supplies.
Collaborate with team members and communicate any issues or delays to supervisors.
Adhere to all safety standards and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
Prefer experience in sheet metal fabrication, metalworking, or related shop environment/ will train
Ability to read and interpret drawings and layouts.
Familiarity with sheet metal tools and equipment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
Ability to lift [50 lbs.] and perform physical tasks throughout shift.
Good communication skills and ability to work within a team.
Preferred:
Basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
Work Environment
Shop, warehouse, or manufacturing setting.
Frequent standing, lifting, bending, and operation of machinery.
Safety gear required (steel-toed boots, eye protection, gloves, etc.).
