Today marks the annual celebration of World Architecture Day.

World Architecture Day is more than a day to celebrate iconic architecture. It is also a day to reflect on how this industry can better meet the needs of the public. With this year’s theme being ‘Housing is a Human Right. Build it,’ we focus on ways to increase equitable access to housing in the built environment: through education, sustainable practices and inclusive design.

The Canopy Cove Treatment Facility is one example of creating accessible housing for those in crisis. Find more ways to get involved and support this year’s mission.

The FSU Delta Delta Delta back patio just received a well-deserved redesign!

Our team consulted on this project to provide more social gathering opportunities in the unused green spaces. The repaved patio now features a new pergola, shaded seating areas and walkways with the Tri Delta identity set in stone.

There are many architectural features that can draw attention to a building, though architects and designers tend to pay attention to a few specific key principles:

⭐ CONTEXT | The locations and surrounding architectural styles that interact with a site.
⭐ NAVIGATION | Pathways and wayfinding elements that allow users to traverse through space.
⭐ MATERIALS | The materials and finishes that make up a buildings structure and appearance.
⭐ CONNECTION TO EXTERIOR | How the interior and exterior of a space interact with one another.
⭐ ACCESSIBILITY | The routes created and design choices made to ensure a space is accessible to all populations of inhabitants.

Taking advantage of the hot summer days by bringing the beach indoors!

Inspired by coastal atmospheres, this spread layers soft blues, natural woven textiles, and sandy wood tones to capture the feeling of a day spent relaxing by the beach. It may not be a real beach day at the office, but hopefully it’ll make the day more of a breeze…🏖️
