🌀 HURRICANE ISAIAS | Here in North Florida, we're no strangers to severe weather. And while we're all busy preparing our homes and families, we want to leave some tips (Can't forget your hvac system!)

🏡 BEFORE THE STORM:
✔️ Clear loose branches, decorations, toys, and other debris away from your outdoor AC unit.
✔️ If your power starts flickering, turn your thermostat to OFF.
✔️ Expecting a power outage? Consider cooling your home a few degrees lower than normal while you still have electricity. It may help keep things comfortable a little longer!
✔️ Check your air filter TODAY. If it needs replacing, now's the time.
✔️ Never cover your outdoor unit with a tarp or plastic while it's running.

⚡ IF THE POWER GOES OUT:
Keep your thermostat OFF, if possible, until power is restored and stable. Avoid repeatedly restarting your system, and never attempt to run your central AC on an improperly sized or connected generator.

🔧 AFTER THE STORM:
Before turning your AC back on, check for debris, visible damage, or signs of flooding.
If your equipment was submerged in floodwater, DO NOT turn it on until it's been professionally inspected.

And here's something a lot of homeowners don't know! 👇

Your AC may have a built-in safety delay after power is restored. Give it at least 5–6 minutes to start before assuming something is wrong. Some systems may take a little longer. If you notice unusual noises, burning smells, or breakers repeatedly tripping, turn the system OFF and have it checked.
