In Florida, humidity matters just as much as temperature. If your thermostat is set higher, your AC may not run long enough to remove as much moisture from the air, which can leave the home feeling a little sticky.

Humidity issues can also be caused by things like oversized equipment, ductwork, incorrect fan settings, and so on…On the flip side, two-stage and inverter systems are often better at controlling humidity because they can run longer at lower capacities.

Every home is different, though, so if your home feels damp or uncomfortable, it’s best to have a professional evaluate the system rather than assuming the thermostat setting is the only cause.
