Georgia Chapter of the Association for Learning Environments, inc. once again brought together school leaders, architects, contractors, and industry partners from across Georgia all united by a shared commitment to creating better learning environments for students and educators. LDDBlueline's David McBrayer, AIA, LEED AP and Tessa Bennetch joined Alex Revin of Atlanta Public Schools and John Rood and Wallace Miles of Carroll Daniel to present “From Challenge to Opportunity: Designing Hope and Resilience at The Henry Louis ‘Hank’ Aaron New Beginnings Academy,” sharing how a collaborative vision became a meaningful investment in student success.

Designed to support students who have faced challenges in traditional learning environments, the project prioritizes safety, structure, and connection through intentional planning and purpose-driven design. The addition of a new gymnasium and cafeteria expanded opportunities for students while creating spaces that foster belonging, encourage positive growth, and strengthen the school community.

Thank you to everyone who made this year's GA4LE Conference such a success. Year after year, this conference continues to inspire meaningful conversations and connections, and we're already looking forward to seeing everyone again next year!

Edward Castro, Senior Designer at LDDBlueline, was honored to join Habitat for Humanity Washington, D.C., for this year’s Pride Build benefiting Joseph’s House & Shelter. 🪜🛠️🧹

Joseph’s House is a nonprofit organization that provides compassionate, holistic care for unhoused individuals living with serious illnesses, including HIV/AIDS and terminal cancer, with a focus on serving the LGBTQ+ community and people of color.

"Being surrounded by such generosity, hope, and remembrance was a powerful reminder that we all have the ability to offer kindness and compassion to those in need, in whatever form possible, and make a profound impact."🏳️‍🌈🏡❤️

Good architecture depends on more than creativity; it depends on deep listening, asking the right questions, and continuously checking that the design still reflects how the space needs to function in the real world.

🌴Celebrating New Adventures and Lasting Contributions 🌺

Today, our Virginia office gathered for a tropical-themed farewell lunch to celebrate two valued members of the LDDBlueline family - Design Technology Specialist Ken Earman as he begins his well-earned retirement, and Interior Designer Kristin LaPorta, NCIDQ as she embarks on an exciting new chapter focused on motherhood and family.

With island vibes, great food, and plenty of laughter, we took time to reflect on the dedication, talent, and positive impact both Ken and Kristin have brought to our team over the years. Their contributions have helped shape our firm, strengthen our culture, and make a difference in the lives of colleagues and clients alike.

At LDDBlueline, supporting one another and celebrating meaningful milestones is an important part of who we are. We are grateful for the opportunity to come together, recognize the people who have helped build our firm, and honor the relationships that make our team so special.

We extend our sincere thanks to Ken and Kristin for their years of commitment and service. We wish Ken endless enjoyment, relaxation, and adventure in retirement, and we wish Kristin joy, fulfillment, and precious time with her family.

Jack Duran and Clayton Matcek were honored to represent LDDBlueline on June 2 for the dedication, open house, and grand opening of the new Brookshire-Katy Drainage District Administration Building, which also coincided with the District’s 65th anniversary celebration.

As Architect of Record, LDDBlueline is proud to have served the Brookshire-Katy Drainage District on this important public facility. The project includes a new free-standing 6,368-square-foot administration building and related site infrastructure improvements, including paved parking and drives, on-site utilities, and detention improvements.

We appreciate the opportunity to have worked alongside Stan Kitzman, General Manager, the Brookshire-Katy Drainage District staff, the Board of Directors, and Noble Building and Development in bringing this project to completion. This new facility represents an important investment in the District’s continued service to Brookshire, Katy, and the surrounding Waller County community.

LDDBlueline is grateful for the trust placed in our team and proud to have contributed to a project that will support the District’s operations and long-term public service mission for years to come.

Meaningful conversations are at the heart of what we do.

Recently, LDDBlueline Principal and Architect David McBrayer, AIA, LEED AP had the opportunity to spend time with friend Commissioner Kevin Tanner of the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD), followed by lunch with Principal and Interior Designer Milli Dunkin, RID, IIDA, LEED AP.

The conversation focused on the evolving landscape of behavioral health across Georgia, including different types of mental health facilities and upcoming projects throughout the state. By listening first, we gain a deeper understanding of how thoughtful design can support healing, belonging, and stronger communities. At LDDBlueline, we believe positive attitudes and genuine relationships make all the difference. We find joy in connecting with people who are passionate about making a difference, and we're grateful for opportunities like these to learn, share ideas, and strengthen partnerships.

Thank you, Commissioner Tanner, for your time, insights, and commitment to the future of behavioral health in Georgia.
