🏗️ PROJECT PROGRESS | Griffin Middle School Gymnasium

Great progress continues at Griffin Middle School as construction moves forward on the new gymnasium for Leon County Schools!

Exterior masonry and building enclosure work are advancing, while inside, the gym space is beginning to come together with overhead systems, lighting and interior finishes underway.

It’s exciting to watch this next phase of the Griffin campus transformation take shape as we work toward delivering a new space for students, athletics and school activities.

❤️ PROJECT SPOTLIGHT | Electrophysiology Lab Renovation

Some of the most challenging parts of a healthcare renovation happen well beyond what patients ever see.

For this Electrophysiology Lab project, Childers completely demolished existing operating rooms and associated pre- and post-operative and administrative areas to create two new EP Heart Catheterization Labs.

One of the most unique aspects of the project was the structural work required to support the highly specialized medical equipment. More than 3,000 square feet of the existing roof was raised approximately four feet so additional structural support could be installed to carry the new equipment loads.

The result was a highly specialized clinical environment designed to support advanced cardiac procedures — combining complex structural modifications, healthcare construction expertise, and careful coordination within an active medical facility.

🔙 THROWBACK THURSDAY | ECTC Welding & HVAC Lab 🔧🔥

Today we’re looking back at the Emerald Coast Technical College Welding & HVAC Lab, completed for Walton County School District!

This approximately 7,700-square-foot career and technical education facility was designed to give students hands-on experience in two high-demand skilled trades. The project included a dedicated 20-station welding lab, HVAC instructional space and supporting areas designed around real-world training.

Projects like this are especially rewarding because the spaces we build become places where students develop the skills, confidence and experience to begin successful careers in the trades.

🏈 College Football is BACK! 🏈

There’s nothing quite like the first weekend of college football — especially here in Tallahassee! 🍢

As the Seminoles kick off another season, we’re proud to look back at one of the many projects Childers Construction has had the opportunity to complete on the Florida State University campus — the Indoor Practice Facility, built to help FSU student-athletes prepare, compete and pursue excellence year-round.

🍢 WELCOME BACK, SEMINOLES! 🍢

As Florida State University students head back to class today, we’re excited to share a little first-day sneak peek at one of our latest completed spaces on campus!

The Bio Unit One – 2nd Floor Renovation wrapped up just in time for the start of the Fall semester, transforming the space into a fresh, modern environment ready to welcome students back to campus.

And this is just a teaser… 👀 The furniture is still moving in, and we’ll have more photos of the finished space to share later this week!

🚧 Progress is moving right along at Paxton School! 🚧

There’s plenty happening across the campus as our team continues pushing forward on this multi-phase improvement project for Walton County School District. Recent progress includes extensive site grading and earthwork, new fencing, concrete placement, and continued construction of new athletic support facilities.

From preparing the grounds for the next phase of improvements to putting the finishing pieces in place around the athletic areas, the transformation is becoming more visible every day.

We’re proud to be part of a project that will provide upgraded facilities and improved spaces for Paxton students, staff, athletes, and the community for years to come. Walton County School District, Florida Caldwell Architects

Welcome back, Griffin teachers and staff! 🍎📚✨

Yesterday, the Childers crew had the pleasure of helping decorate the teachers’ lounge with snacks, drinks, and supplies to kick off the new school year. It was a small way to show our appreciation for the incredible educators and staff who pour so much into their students every single day.

A special thank-you to everyone who generously donated items and helped make this welcome-back surprise possible!

We’re grateful for the opportunity to support the amazing team at Griffin and help make the start of the school year a little more special. Wishing all of the teachers and staff a wonderful, successful, and rewarding year ahead!
