September 11, 2001 is a day we will never forget.
We remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost that day, at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and aboard the four flights that never reached their destinations.
We remember the first responders who ran toward danger when everyone else was trying to escape. The 343 firefighters, along with law enforcement officers, EMS personnel, and so many others who gave their lives trying to save people they had never met.
We remember the heroes of Flight 93, whose courage and sacrifice saved countless others.
We also remember those whose lives were forever changed in the days and years that followed, the families who lost someone they loved, the survivors, and the first responders who continued to suffer from the effects of that day.
And we remember what came after.
For a time, we weren't divided by where we came from, what we believed, or what side we were on. We were simply Americans. We stood together, helped our neighbors, flew our flag, and took care of each other.
Twenty-five years later, that is worth remembering.
So, today we Remember. Today, we honor the lives lost, the heroes who stepped forward, the families who carried on, and a country that came together when it mattered most.
Never Forget.
