The History of Beyond Landscaping
Beyond Landscaping was started in 2001 by Rustin (Rusty) Rumfelt & his best friend. Rusty graduated with a degree in landscape management, so the two friends decided to start their own landscaping business. The two of them gradually hired employees, bought equipment & worked hard to grow their business. In 2006 Rusty became the sole owner of the Beyond Landscaping. In 2008 land was purchased on the corner of Bowser Road & 300 East & construction began on the building. When the building was completed in 2009 there was more room for additional equipment and employees & the business continued to grow. In 2011 Rusty’s wife, Kristy, joined the team to run the office. In 2015 Joe Horacek joined the team as the lead designer.
In 2018 Beyond made the decision to eliminate mowing & lawn care from their list of services in an effort to concentrate all their efforts on their true passion-landscape design, installation & the maintenance of landscapes. They added #livewall to their list of services-the only company in the area to offer this type of unique vertical landscaping.
Beyond employs up to 20 people per year. We offer salary, health insurance, simple IRA match, HSA & other perks to eligible employees. We have a strong retention rate with our full time staff with the longest employed 14 years! We truly value our employees & care for them like family.
As our name implies, we “go beyond” in all the work that we do. Our designs are creative & innovative. Our plant selection is carefully thought out, unique & only the best of stock is selected. Our hardscape materials are carefully selected & inspected. Our employees take pride in the work that they do & pay attention to detail. They are friendly, courteous & really enjoy the work they do.
