🚨 Is Your Pool VGBA Compliant? 🚨

Your pool’s main drain covers are one of the most important safety features protecting swimmers from dangerous suction entrapment.

The Virginia Graeme Baker Pool & Spa Safety (VGBA) Act requires compliant drain covers and other safety measures to help prevent serious injuries and save lives.

⚠️ If your pool was built before 2008, your main drain covers may need to be inspected or replaced. They should be replaced ever 3-5 years.

A simple inspection can help:
💧 Protect your family and guests
✅ Keep your pool compliant with current safety standards
🏊 Reduce the risk of suction entrapment
🛠️ Replace worn, damaged, or expired drain covers before they become a safety hazard

At Qualla-T Pool & Spa, we can inspect your pool’s drain system, verify compliance, and recommend any necessary upgrades to help keep your pool safe.

Pool safety starts from the bottom up. Don’t wait until it’s too late.

💙 National Drowning Prevention Week – Final Day

As we wrap up National Drowning Prevention Week, let’s remember that water safety doesn’t end today.

Keep practicing these simple habits all summer:
💧 Watch children closely.
💧 Learn CPR.
💧 Keep rescue equipment nearby.
💧 Secure your pool when it’s not in use.
💧 Make safety part of every swim.

From all of us at Qualla-T Pool & Spa, thank you for helping make our community a safer place to swim.

Have fun. Stay safe. Make memories that last a lifetime. ☀️🏊

🦺 National Drowning Prevention Week – Day 4

Life jackets aren’t just for boats.

Children and inexperienced swimmers should wear a properly fitted U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jacket whenever they’re around open water.

Remember:
✔️ Floaties are toys—not safety devices.
✔️ Choose the correct size.
✔️ Make sure it fits snugly.

A life jacket can provide peace of mind, but it never replaces active adult supervision.

❤️ National Drowning Prevention Week – Day 3

Learn CPR. Save a Life.

In an emergency, every second matters.

Knowing CPR can make the difference while waiting for first responders to arrive.

Whether you’re a parent, grandparent, pool owner, or frequent swimmer, CPR is one of the most valuable skills you can have.

Prepared people save lives.

🔒 National Drowning Prevention Week – Day 2

A secure pool saves lives.

Did you know that a properly installed fence with a self-closing, self-latching gate can significantly reduce the risk of accidental drownings?

Take a few minutes today to check:
✔️ Pool gate latches correctly
✔️ Fence is in good condition
✔️ Safety covers are secure
✔️ Rescue equipment is easy to access

Pool safety starts before anyone gets in the water.

💙 National Drowning Prevention Week – Day 1

👀 Be a Water Watcher.

One distracted moment can change everything. When children are in or around water, designate one responsible adult to actively supervise them—no phones, no reading, no distractions.

Remember:
💦 Stay within arm’s reach of young children.
📵 Put the phone away.
🔄 Rotate Water Watcher duties if you’re with a group.

At Qualla-T Pool & Spa, we believe the best pool accessory is an attentive adult.
