Today involved a trip for Julie to pick up some Japanese maples from Jen’s Farm Maples in Manchester TN.

Jen confirmed she will be a vendor with us at Dixie Regionals May 29-30, 2026 in Huntsville when our Hosta Society of North Alabama hosts it next year!

Visited a gorgeous nursery in Duluth GA called Woody's Nursery. Lots of variety and lots of plants! The hosta had been feasted on by deer just like in gardens 🤭 They definitely know where the delectable plants are!

Prices and selection were excellent! Definitely a must place to visit.

Today’s journey took us to Ed Thaubald’s place aka Bentley Gardens down in Locust Grove GA!

Ed loves the streakers just like I do (Susan) so I could have stayed all day long looking through his hostas!

Purchased a potful of Special Forces hosta to add to my garden and Julie got a huge Gunthers Rim for hers!

Hands down one of the BEST BBQ places we’ve ever eaten at! 😋

Corn pudding was top notch, okra and Mac and cheese was 😘

And the a Sweet BBQ sauce was oh my amazing!!!

Kudos and shout out to City Barbeque Johns Creek!

Today’s visit took us south down to visit Richard Jolly of Pine Forest Gardens in Tyrone GA!

What a wonderful place to visit! We shopped and sat and talked for a couple of hours all things hosta.

He’s still shipping for a couple more weeks so visit his website at https://pineforestgardens.com/ and see what all he has available! It’s end of the season but his hostas still are in good condition and we saw for ourselves the great root systems they have as they were potting up hostas for next year today ❤️
