I wanted to share a few local projects because the timing behind them is something homeowners don’t always see.

These outdoor spaces were designed and planned during the winter, which allowed us to start building in the spring—and more importantly, the homeowners were able to really enjoy them for the season.

Exterior projects like decks, outdoor living spaces, windows, and doors tend to go much smoother when the planning, design, and permitting are handled ahead of time, rather than waiting until spring when schedules and materials get tight.

Just sharing this as a helpful insight for anyone thinking about an exterior project this year.

🚨 Important winter safety reminder 🚨

After this storm dropped about 17 inches of snow, I discovered that the hot water exhaust vent at my own house was completely blocked. This is something that can easily be overlooked — and it’s extremely dangerous.

A blocked exhaust vent can cause carbon monoxide to back up into your home, which is a serious health risk. In this video, I show exactly what was blocked and how to safely dig it out.

Please take a few minutes to check your own vents after heavy snowfall — it could literally save a life.
