Scott was one of the greatest men in our industry. A true friend, a man of integrity and character. He will be missed by all who knew him, and never forgotten. Rest in peace Scott!

It is with a very heavy heart that we
share the news of Scott Melcher’s passing on Friday evening, August 28, 2026. As one of our OLC family members, Scott served as the president of the Oregon Logging Conference in 2021 and 2022. He was a man of very few words, but his words had a profound impact on everyone he touched. His legacy will continue to inspire for years to come. We’ll all will miss you dearly!

Our hearts and prayers are with the Melcher family during this incredibly difficult time. We wish them peace and comfort.

Happy 48th Anniversary to Louis and Lori! They tied the knot back in 1978. Louis was rained out of the woods, so they figured they’d better get married — they grabbed a witness and headed to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. 48 years, 4 kids, and 9 grandkids (and counting) later, they are thankful to the Lord for all of His blessings!

Happy Birthday to L&L's Terry Mann! Terry is the oldest son of Louis and Lori and runs a cut-to-length side. Terry has practically been logging since birth and makes his parents and entire family proud!
