Contemporary Watercolorists of Arizona Forty members make up this active artists critique group and new members are invited to join whenever there is a vacancy.

Contemporary Watercolorists of Arizona began in 1969, formed by instructors
and professional artists who sought to advance the use of water media
through monthly discussions and sharing of their work. New approaches to painting and applications of new water media are discussed each month while reviewing the monthly "Challenge" painting.

Many thanks to Kim Johnson-Nechtman, who visited the CWA Fall exhibition today to jury for awards. She spent quite some time before she made her decision.
Although our awards ceremony will not be until the September meeting, the prizewinning paintings are identified in the gallery. Come to the First Friday reception to see who won!

For those of you planning to attend our First Friday reception, here is a parking plan and map created by Elizabeth P. You can have validated parking with the restaurants on Roosevelt, there is limited free parking close to the venue. The southbound light rail stop is close by at 1st Avenue and Roosevelt while the northbound is at central and Roosevelt just a block away.

This is an exciting, vibrant watermedia exhibition. Do come to our reception on Friday, September 4, 6-9 pm.

Entries are now open for the AAG 15th Annual Statewide Exhibition at First Studio, Phoenix, August 3-28, 2026. This is a juried exhibition of fine art , no theme, and open to all residents of Arizona. Open reception and awards Friday, Aug. 7, 5-9 p.m.. Art must be for sale.
