Canadian Logger Tree trimming and removal services for West Valley Phoenix Canadian Logger is a tree trimming service that my dad started in 1978.

Trimmed a palo verde on Friday - thornless variety thankfully but it didn't turn out as pretty as I would have liked. Wasn't a lot of shape to work with. Folks let their trees get so far overgrown that it's difficult to shape without really pulling some limbs back a long way.

THIS is why you need to hire someone who knows what they're doing...If he had been tied into the limb above his head instead of hanging off the top of the ladder he could have simply slipped around to his right and been fine. As it is, he's got a serious headache...

Never speak too soon...I just finished trimming 4 Citrus trees (just shaping) and topping a Jacuranda tree. But I've already got EIGHT removals scheduled for next week (mostly small trees) and one big removal for the week after that. So much for slowing down..but I need the funds so it's all good. I'll have to get some action photos for the big tree cuz it's going to be an adventure getting that one on the ground safely.

Looks like I may be slowing down a bit on tree trimming. I'll do a job, here and there, when it comes along but I'm not going to ramp it up and buy a dump truck etc. I was at first really kind of pushing the business but now that I'm a grad student, Headmaster of a school and a senior pastor...not to mention married and having 5 kids...I"m JUST a week bit on the busy side. So, at this point I plan to keep doing trees until my insurance runs out in June and then back off. I'll still do some trees for folks I know and/or the odd job that comes in but I think I'll be pretty busy with grad school this coming fall. In the meantime, I'll post a few things about trees and you can certainly ask me about it if you need some info

Removed a sweet acacia on Friday. It started to rain so I had to bump a second job we planned for that day. Acacia are full of heavy thorns and every time I have to deal with thorn (which is more than I like in this neighborhood) I am reminded of the curse...God said that we would work and sweat for our food and the earth would give us thorns and thistles in return. He wasn't kidding...

So - what about the NAME of the company? My Dad and his whole family are from Canada. I grew up going back and forth between San Diego California and Chilliwack BC Canada. My dad and his brothers were loggers in Canada so when Dad started the business in San Diego it was a logical name. Since I grew up in the business and since I'm the child of a natural born Canadian citizen I can claim Canadian citizenship - and I plan to do that this year in fact! With one thing and another when Dad hung up his climbing spurs in 2014 it made sense to pass the company name along to me. It's unique and I'm proud to carry on a tradition of logging that started with my grandfather a LONG time ago. I guess you could say that the Canadian Logger company has been in my family since the depression. I've got my son Nathan working with me now and my son James Marks is planning to train as an apprentice tree trimmer when he gets out of the Navy. Hopefully the tradition will carry on for a long time...

I will be removing a sweet Acacia on Saturday and topping out a Chinese Elm - nothing terribly exciting.

I've recently been upgrading my business so I plan to upload more before and after photos here as well as tips on trees etc. I you wouldn't mind "liking" this page, that would be awesome.
