Variegated Shell Ginger is giving tropical vacation without leaving your backyard. 🌿✨

Those gorgeous striped leaves bring color and texture to the garden even when nothing is blooming and once established, it creates a lush, full look that makes an ordinary garden bed feel expensive.

Perfect for:
🌿 Tropical + coastal gardens
🌿 Part shade / filtered sun
🌿 Filling larger garden beds
🌿 Adding height + texture
🌿 Pairing with elephant ears, ferns & other shade lovers

And yes, it grows beautifully here along the South Carolina coast. 💚

Variegated Shell Ginger is available now at Gafford Garden House.

Now taking orders for one of my favorites, the Blue Plumbago! These are in 8” pots.

Pictured is one that I planted in a bigger pot just a month ago. They are blooming every 1-2 weeks right now and will continue throughout fall. They love the heat and are drought resistant. Absolutely love this plant for its versatility. You can stake it to make a topiary, let it grow like a shrub and even let it climb like a vine! This is a very affordable flowering shrub with a punch of color for your garden or yard. These always go fast so make sure you get your order in now. Place your order below. Pick up will be in Surfside Beach on either Wednesday or Thursday of this week depending on when you place your order - unless you choose delivery: https://www.gaffordgardenhouse.com/greenhouse/p/blue-plumbago-plumbago-auriculata?rq=Plum

One minute you’re on a tractor, and the next you have a toddler hiding between your legs while trying to lift a heavy plant… all while trying to keep the show going! This is what I love most about gardening. I get to do it with my daughter by my side. Sometimes early in the morning, sometimes at nap time and even late at night with a silly headlamp on!

It’s messy. It’s hard. Some days it’s downright exhausting. But watching the little human you created grow alongside the plants you’ve lovingly nurtured is one of life’s greatest rewards.

Plants have a way of bringing joy through every season of life.

This beauty is the Chaste Tree, one of my absolute favorites. Its vibrant lavender-purple blooms are a magnet for butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds, filling the garden with life all summer long. If you’ve ever driven down Highway 17 through Surfside Beach, South Carolina, you’ve probably admired the beautiful mature Chaste Trees lining the roadway.

We offer them in three sizes: 3, 5, and 7-gallon pots so you can bring that same timeless beauty home to your own garden.
