5 Tips to Keep Your Hydrangeas Happy in the Missouri Heat ☀️
💧 Water Deeply: Missouri's hot August temperatures can dry out soil quickly. Give your hydrangeas a deep watering when the soil begins to dry out, especially during hot or dry stretches.
🌅 Water in the Morning: Water early in the day so your plants have time to absorb the moisture before temperatures climb.
🌿 Add Mulch: Add a 2–3 inch layer of mulch around the base of your hydrangeas to help the soil retain moisture and stay cooler. Just keep mulch away from the plant's stems.
☀️ Protect from Afternoon Heat: If your hydrangeas are wilting in Missouri's hot afternoon sun, consider providing some afternoon shade, especially during the hottest parts of the summer.
