Happy Birthday, Claire Allen!
KONTEXT is blessed to have Claire Allen Assoc. AIA, Eva Allenâs daughter, on our team. Today, on her birthday, we celebrate her, KONTEXTâs design intern:
Insanely gifted, quick learner;
Intelligent, critical thinker;
Team player and quiet leader;
Eager to be mentored, who invites criticism (unreal); and,
A humble, gracious, and generous woman.
"On one hand, we see Claire surrounded by material samples, lighting catalogs, and design publications; an emerging professional with infinite potential already making a positive impact on our clients, strategic partners, and work family," said Kelly Thompson, owner of KONTEXT and Principal Architect for the firm. "On the other hand, I also see her as an excited young lady surrounded by Legos, finger painting supplies, and picture books sitting on the living room floor -- kind of like my fondest memories of my daughter, Myranda."
Kelly puts it more humbly, though:
"Daily, I hope that I am up to the task of positively influencing the professional development of our extraordinary talented Claire. God knows, I (color challenged) cannot do it all myself. Thankfully, the KONTEXT family all seek her participation on projects."
KONTEXT is excited that Claire (her photo is attached with this post) is already taking design lead on select build-out projects.
"Furthermore, she is the 'go-to' for all interior design subject matter," Kelly added. "I especially appreciate her willingness and enthusiasm to comprehensively understand architecture. NCIDQ, AIA will follow her name on her business card before long."
Work relationships teeter dangerously on the edge of being transactional. Accomplishment requests of KONTEXT are to âdo somethingâ for the âsomething in return.â
"Working besides family, both literally and symbolically," Kelly added, "reminds us that focus on serving and not on the return will always accomplish the extraordinary. This surpasses the KONTEXT family and includes each of our clients, strategic partners and friends. Happy Birthday Claire!"
