A small drip turned into a bigger issue…

We recently inspected a plate heat exchanger and found a pinhole failure—so small you couldn’t pass a needle through it.

The unit was only 18 months old and running at low pressure.

⚠️ Even newer equipment can fail.

Our team:
✔ Identified the issue
✔ Removed the damaged plate + companion
✔ Got the system back online

⏱️ Downtime: just a few hours

💡 Takeaway: Small problems can lead to major downtime if ignored. Fast response makes all the difference.

Back in Ship Shape!

MechPro recently overhauled three Central Fresh Water (CFW) coolers on a container ship—each with 179 plates. Our team handled de-scaling, epoxy rebuilds, and protective coatings to restore efficiency and extend service life.

Keeping CFW coolers maintained is critical to preventing overheating and costly downtime at sea.
