Water dripping or coming out of the handles? Check your stems and seats. In this case a was very old Ge**er shower body was continuously allowing water to drip from the spout and pluring out from behind the handles when opening the valves. Its usually a simple fix. Shut the water to the house amd drain from a lower fixture. Remove the trim and stems. Carefully remove the seats with a seat wrench. Then replace with all new seats , stems and trim. Restore water and test. I like to restore water before putting the trim to make sure there's not dripping behind the wall.

Got another call with a leaking polypex hot water line. Water heater had to be drained , disassembled and moved out of the way to make room to get into a small hole in the wall. Then put the water heater back in place , refill, test repair under pressure and turn on the power to the water heater.

If your house has poly pex make sure you check on it every now and then. It was discontinued in 1995. Why it was discontinued: The material degraded when exposed to chlorine and hot water, leading to brittle pipes, pinhole leaks, and catastrophic bursts.

A client called saying they can see under the house through the shower drain. We showed up to assess the situation and find the pipe and trap was not lined up with the drain. The install was done incorrectly and disconnected from the drain. We cut back almost 3 inches of pipe and used the correct fittings to reassemble. Tested for leaks to makes sure connections were secure. Another satisfied client.

Client broke the cartridge to her shower body. She calls and says she wants to rip out the existing and upgrade to a new one. We arrive and go over how we would install the new one without having to break tiles. She was given options for good quality shower valves. She picked one to fit her budget and we got to work. If you're a DYIer and decide to install fillvalves, make sure you adjust the height of the unit or the adjuster. This client had 5 toilets in his house and every toilet was filling past the flush valve. This can cause a higher than normal water bill over time. In this house 1 fill valve was bad and needed to be replaced since it kept filling. Its a few dollar fix to save you potentially hundreds on a high water bill. Client calls saying the toilet was wobbling. We show up to the location and investigate the situation. Come to find the bolts were just loose and wax was flattened. We checked the fl**ge to make sure it wasn't compromised. After determining everything is ok with the fl**ge we reset the toilet with a new wax gasket and tank supply. Tested for leaks.
