What Weâve Been Up To This Week đšđ±
Itâs been a busy few days at Your Hired Hands, LLC, and by the time weâve gotten home each night, weâve been exhausted. Hereâs a recap of what weâve been working on.
Monday
We started the day helping my nephew (Rickyâs son) get his truck back on the road by replacing the spark plugs, ignition coils, and spark plug wires.
From there, we headed to our kitchen remodel project. After getting started, we discovered the laminate flooring the customer had purchased had been damaged by moisture. Rather than trying to make it work, we stopped, discussed it with the customer, and agreed the best solution was to exchange it before moving forward.
Tuesday
Ricky wasnât feeling well Monday night, so I had him stay home and get some much-needed rest while I handled the dayâs work.
I started by helping one of our commercial customers with some roof maintenanceâpatching a few problem areas and installing a protective cover over an old rooftop A/C opening. After that, I headed back to the kitchen remodel. Once the customer returned with the replacement flooring, I was able to get almost the entire floor installed before calling it a day. Sometimes you know itâs time to quit when you start making mistakes on your cuts. đ
Wednesday
Ricky was feeling much better and back at it. While he took care of one of our new bi-weekly lawn maintenance customers just a couple houses down from the remodel, I finished installing the new laminate flooring.
Once the flooring was complete, we brought the new base cabinets into the kitchen and arranged them so the customer could actually see the layout instead of trying to imagine it. After seeing everything laid out, they officially approved Phase 2 of the project!
This weekend weâll be painting the new cabinets while theyâre still out of the kitchen. That makes painting much easier and gives a cleaner finish.
Weâve also adjusted the schedule to make the process as efficient as possible. Rather than painting the rest of the kitchen right away, weâll first install the base cabinets so the countertop company can come out and take their measurements. Once the countertops have been measured, weâll complete the remaining painting. This protects the fresh paint, avoids unnecessary covering and uncovering of finished surfaces, and keeps us from doing the same work twice.
Planning each step carefully helps us deliver a better finished product while keeping the project moving forward. Our goal is simple: complete the project efficiently while getting the customerâs kitchen back as quickly as possible.
At the same time, weâre continuing to take care of our recurring lawn maintenance customers because those customers are the foundation of our business.
Thank you to everyone who continues to trust us with your homes, businesses, and projects. We truly appreciate every opportunity.
If youâve been thinking about tackling a project, weâd love to help.
