David's Wooden Treasures A hobby that needs an outlet. Most work is made by request unless you see it on the page. I take trees from the log to the finished kiln dried stage.

Right now bowls are an obsession. However, other types woodworking are being pursued as requested.

I keep forgetting to post on this page. So, here are a few recent items. A 12" plate made from maple, a small bowl made from Ambrosia maple, and a charcuterie board made from mulberry from the Marsh House tree (Marsh House is a pre-Civil War house built inn 1836.) The board measures about 12" x 23" approx. All these will be available with other stuff this coming Saturday at the Farmers' Market in LaFayette.

Thank you, folks at Hank’s Carpets for hosting us once again. What a great day! Thank you, those who took time from busy Easter schedules to grace our Spring Market. The atmosphere was delightful and the company attending was exceptional. I sold out (of cookies) and shared the recipe. All in all, a very blessed day, wasn’t it Mason? Thank you, especially.

The next showing will be on Saturday, April 4th at Hank's Carpets in Tunnel Hill, GA., 9-1:00. Here are a few photos of what will be available at the showing. There are others but these will suffice in this post. The three pieces in one photo are kitchen utensil holders. The light colored bowl with a dark streak is pecan. The other two photos are of two different maple bowls, one cored from the other larger bowl. The larger bowl is the top one of the two.

We will be open and available 9-1. Come by and visit and take home a treasure. I have about 30 bowls and a sampling of cutting boards and rolling pins and display holders. Have started working on some maple. I don't think it is Ambrosia since I haven't seen any bug holes and the accompanying discolored wood. However, it appears to have splotches of darker color. Can't wait to see how the finished product appears. I am hoping the splotches will darken with a finish. Right now, all is in the developing stage with several items drying. A friend will help me cut the 6' x 26" diameter log soon. Should have some interesting lumber as well as bowl material. I will try some end grain work to see whether it differs. I will post a finished product when time comes.

It is intended for holding utensils in the kitchen. The holder is made from Ash, walnut, black gum, red cherry, and American elm. Of course, it is Food Safe finished. If you are interested, please call or text me and make plans to come by and see whether you would like anyone of them for a gift for someone.
