Camellia Sasanqua or Camellia Japonica — it's one of the most common plant questions we get on North Georgia properties. Here's the short answer.

Both are beautiful. Both perform well in this climate. The difference is bloom time.

Camellia Sasanqua blooms in the fall. Camellia Japonica blooms in late winter to early spring. Knowing which one you want means having color exactly when you need it — and possibly year round if you plant both.

When it comes to screening on North Georgia properties, these two come up on many of the projects we do — and for good reason.

American Pillar Arborvitae — stays narrow, screens beautifully, and is deer resistant. That last part matters a lot on North Georgia lake properties where deer pressure is high.

Chindo Viburnum — a stately evergreen that makes a clean, classic hedge or screen. Performs well in our climate and looks great year round.

Not every tree belongs in every North Georgia yard — but these two are about as close to a sure thing as it gets.

Bald Cypress — mostly evergreen here in Northeast Georgia and thrives in wetter conditions. A healthy 3-inch caliper tree like this one is a great size to start with and will establish quickly.

Little Gem Magnolia — one of our favorite accent plantings. Beautiful white blooms through the summer months and a clean, refined look that works on high-end properties throughout North Georgia.

When we take on a project in North Georgia, drainage isn't an afterthought — it's the foundation of everything.

On this project we hard piped the entire property with PVC — front and back — roughly 4,000 linear feet of pipe designed to move water away from the home and prevent erosion long term.

The pavers and brick accent walls look great. But it's what's underneath that makes them last.

If you're dealing with drainage issues or planning a project and want to understand what should be included, our free guide breaks it all down. Comment GUIDE and we'll send it over.

Every plant you're looking at was chosen specifically for this property — not just for how it looks today, but for how it will perform in this soil, this sun exposure, and this climate for years to come.

That's what separates a yard that holds up from one that needs to be redone.

If you're wondering what plants are right for your specific yard, we just put together a free Plant Assessment for North Metro Atlanta homeowners. It takes a few minutes and tells you exactly what will thrive in your conditions.

A beautiful paver patio. Covered roof. Custom fire pit.

Not three separate features — one cohesive outdoor living space planned and built as a single design. Every element chosen to work together and hold up in North Georgia's climate for years to come.

This is what a backyard can become.

A full backyard transformation — in progress.

Retaining wall going in beneath the back deck, heavy equipment on site, a full crew working through the correct sequence to build a tiered, level yard from scratch.

This is what a properly run project looks like. The right people, the right process, and the result that holds up long after the equipment leaves.

If you're planning a project and want to understand what to look for when hiring a landscaping company, our free guide covers it. Comment GUIDE and we'll send it over.

A lakefront property mid-transformation.

Retaining walls installed, grading complete, the land shaped to work with the water instead of fighting it. This is what it looks like when a project is planned around the property — not just dropped on top of it.

An outdoor kitchen starts long before the grill goes in.

Every paver placed precisely, level checked, foundation built to handle the weight and the weather for years to come. This is the craftsmanship underneath the finished product that most people never think about.

If you're thinking about adding an outdoor kitchen or living space to your property, our free guide walks through what a quality project should include. Comment GUIDE and we'll send it over.

A double retaining wall system — sod on the upper level, mulched and planted on the lower.

This is how you turn a steep, unmanageable slope into a structured outdoor space that controls erosion, manages water runoff, and looks like it was always meant to be there.

If you're thinking about what plants would work in a space like this — or in your yard specifically — our free Plant Assessment tells you exactly what thrives in North Georgia conditions.
